TITLE: Sport for Development Educator, Organization Earth (Farsi of Arabic speaker, part-time)
LOCATION: Attica Region, Greece
WORK SCHEDULE: 25 hours per week (including weekends)
SHORT DESCRIPTION: The sport educator plans, prepares and implements Sport for Good activities for children and adults.
Organization Earth is a Greek civil society organization working towards achieving the Goals of Sustainable Development. Having started as a movement to raise awareness regarding sustainable lifestyles in urban centers, its programs early on was based on the principle of connecting people to nature, with a specialized focus on organic urban agriculture learning for children and vulnerable groups.
Today, Organizatio Earth is implementing numerous programs and it includes activities for children, women and men. A large amount of the activities are still concerning population with migrant & refugee background, however a growing number of our projects tackles societal issues in general such a gender inequality and learning disabilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct sport activities through specific methodologies.
Provide knowledge about sport rules and techniques.
Convey specific values through sport.
Ensure that participants train and perform to a high standard of health and safety at all times.
Implement, manage and provide regular feedback about the program.
Document in pictures and videos Organization Earth’s athletic programs and when necessary, request permission from individuals portrayed therein.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
Excellent command of written and spoken Greek or English and Farsi or Arabic.
Experience implementing and managing children’s activities and sport programs.
Computer literate (i.e. MS Office).
Be able to organize a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities.
Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
Be aware of equality and diversity issues.
