
Job Title: Community Engagement Manager
Location : Kostantinoupoleos 44 Ave., Athens, Greece / remotely
Type of Contract: fixed term for 12 months with possibility of extension
Type of Employment: Full-time
Working Days: Monday to Friday and some work outside office hours and occasionally weekends, subject to events and other commitments of the organization including training and team meetings

Organization Earth, an award-winning Greek NGO, is a citizens’ initiative founded in 2010.
Our mission is to deliver (or inspire) community-driven change towards a fair and resilient society, as anchored in the UN SGDs.
We do this by engaging local authorities and other levels of government, civil society and grassroots communities, philanthropic foundations, the private sector, and academia.
Our work focuses on promoting nature-based solutions for climate-neutral and inclusive cities, including pocket parks, urban forests, community gardens, green roofs, and implementing development programs for vulnerable social groups, engaging local communities.
For over ten years, Organization Earth has been operating the Center of the Earth, an environmental education hub, which offers learning-by-doing programs, and community-based activities on sustainable lifestyles.
Description
We are looking for a qualified Community Engagement Manager to join our team. The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the overall community outreach and programmatic engagement of Organization Earth and promotes a green agenda for the organization as well as its values for social justice an inclusion. If you are an experienced professional in social media, PR and promotional events, we would like to meet you. Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a ‘people's person’ with proven track record in moderating online and offline conversations with communities.
Responsibilities
To work collaboratively with all our communities and support them to become more cohesive, sustainable and vibrant.
In collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff, establish community engagement vision, goals and objectives
Establish and continue to build partnerships and meaningful relationships with related organizations
Represent the organization at coalition and community group meetings and public & private events
Develop, organize and facilitate or co-facilitate film screenings, discussion groups, workshops, trainings, and other events
Support and collaborate with the Educational Program Manager as needed on educational workshops, presentations, and promotion
Schedule and staff informational tables at public events
Oversees community engagement events internally and externally, including unit briefings & presentations to community organizations and liaisons with community “champions”
Supports volunteers involved in special events
Prepare presentations and reports
Create and expand a network of contacts
Effectively use the database, social media, and other tools for targeted outreach and promotion
Manage website
Contribute consistently to the organization’s social media presence on a regular basis maintaining a high standard for writing, quality of information, and strategic participation in issues
Create engaging content for our communication pages above
Write up PRs and be the main point of contact for the Media
Supports all fundraising activities, events and endeavours
Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends
Any other duty as assigned by the Executive Director
Requirements
5 years relevant experience including facilitation and event coordination or related experience (creating an online forum, building event series etc)
Expertise in creating and managing social media
Proficient with website (wordpress) usage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competence at electronic data entry and information management
Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events), interpret website traffic and other customer engagement metrics
knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
Understanding and interest in environmental and grassroots and urban agendas
Team player, responsive, flexible
Strong sense of personal integrity
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to set priorities and limits in order to accomplish tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
